Date: 1 Apr 1996 21:53:40 -0600 Organization: Usenet Fact Police (Undercover) Lines: 30 Approved: seebs@solon.com Message-ID: <4jq8c4$c23@solutions.solon.com> NNTP-Posting-Host: solutions.solon.com In a shocking last-minute announcement, Babylon 5 creator Jacob M. Stravinsky announced that he is resigning from his duties with the show, citing a recently created moderated newsgroup as the reason. "Without the influx of story ideas, I just didn't have anything left to go on", he said. "I've basically run out of things from _Lord of the Rings_ I can use without people noticing, and I've incororated most of Beowulf. I needed more ideas, and the Usenet community chose to deny them to me." The newsgroup, which was recently created in a controversial vote, was primarily backed by white power supremacists, looking for a place to voice their hatred. It was anticipated that it would encourage JMS to contribute to the Usenet community; it appears that it will actually keep the Usenet community from contributing to JMS. The new newsgroup will be rmgrouped for a period of two weeks, for Lent, and recreated thereafter. Stravinsky says he is hoping to get a job working for a railroad, because he's sick of the whole entertainment industry. Michael O'Hare was heard to mutter "now he got his." -s -- Peter Seebach - seebs@solon.com - Copyright 1996 Peter Seebach. C/Unix wizard -- C/Unix questions? Send mail for help. No, really!
