So, one of the weird things about getting a shitload of junk faxes is that you never actually read them all. Who has time? I have seven hundred pages of these things. Mostly, I don’t see them when I have a lot of spare time and I’m looking for something to do; I see them when I’m looking for a specific fax on my fax machine, and all that’s there is a stack of unwanted shit, helpfully shoveled by our junker friends. (“friends” is perhaps a euphemism here.)

So, our settlement with Mobile Cellular Unlimited fell through, which is to say, they changed their minds about the compromise agreement we had reached on confidentiality. The agreement was that the existance of a monetary settlement was not confidential, but the amount was. They decided they couldn’t have that, but that means “no settlement”.

Today, in court, we reached a settlement in my case against Mobile Cellular Unlimited, who sent me 7 unsolicited faxes in 2002. So far as I’m concerned, we won. They have agreed to a court order prohibiting them from sending illegal unsolicited faxes; if the laws ever change, they can fax again, but right now, they can’t. They are paying me some money. The amount of money is confidential, so I can’t discuss it.
